My story, “Alexandra Leaving”, appears for the first time in THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF CTHULHU (Running Press, 2016), edited by Paula Guran. The story involves a trip across the country by a young couple, and where they end up is in familiar territory—a place where loss and abandonment come to roost. Inspiration for the story came from a short piece I’d written for another project, but where that one went was so far removed from where it started that I was able to rework its origins into this story.
